elegant Laser cut Wedding Invitations
Wedding invitations play such an important role in your wedding. They set the tone for your guests – giving them a glimpse and first look into your wedding. Laser cut wedding invitations are a uniquely stunning option if you are looking for an invitation to wow and impress your guests. Check out a few of my favorites that I’ve designed over the past few years!
The Old Courthouse – Cleveland Laser cut wedding invitation
This laser cut gate-fold wedding invitation was inspired by beautifully ornate doors inside The Old Courthouse in Cleveland, Ohio. It it beautifully intricate and was the perfect first look into Morgan & Chad’s wedding for their guests. We choose a beautiful shimmer gold cardstock for the laser cut gate-fold and tied it all together with a lovely soft white satin ribbon and wax seal with their initial.
Floral Pocket-Fold Laser cut Wedding Invitation
Another beautiful option for a laser cut wedding invitation is the pocket-fold. It is a lovely tri-fold laser cut that offers a convenient pocket for those extra details you need to include with your invitation. This specific pattern features roses and greenery and pairs so well with the watercolor roses and greenery artwork on their invitation. Mary & Frank chose a lovely light gold cardstock for their laser cut and burgundy & gold glitter for their double backer behind the invitation. The colors are so rich and lovely together, don’t you agree?
Fall Tree laser cut Wedding INvitation
The bride, Ashley, her planner (wonderful Jennifer from Heart 2 Heart Occasions) and I met and it was quickly decided that a laser cut invitation was what Ashley’s heart loved. She wanted her invitations to make the perfect first look for her guests. We looked at some stock laser cut options, but none of them made Ashley really excited. (It’s like trying on the dress - you just know when your invitation is the perfect fit!)
Ashley decided to go with a custom designed laser cut pocket sleeve – featuring a beautifully whimsical tree. With a pocket sleeve, the invitation suite slides right in a pocket (with the front being the laser cut and the back being solid). It offers a beautiful presentation of the invitation as soon as guests open the envelope.
The invitation itself was mounted on a lovely muted green card-stock backer and a walnut wood backer to add a rustic, yet elegant look and feel to the invitation. All of the elements really came together to make this the perfect invitation for Ashley & Chad.
Cleveland Skyline Laser cut wedding invitation
I am based about 30 minutes south of Cleveland, so you better bet I have another beautiful Cleveland inspired wedding invitation in my portfolio. I LOVE how prideful people are about their hometown and Clevelanders definitely love their hometown! This invitation features the Cleveland skyline (with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Trolly too!) laser cut on shimmer opal with the invitation mounted on top. It’s a beautiful representation of Cleveland and perfect for Raquel & Joseph who got married at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Boston Public LIbrary Laser cut Wedding Invitation
This is another invitation that features a custom laser cut pocket sleeve. For Kimberly & Matthew’s wedding at the Boston Public Library, they really wanted something that represented the library’s architecture. The library has beautiful doors that we used as inspiration for their custom laser cut.
With a weekend full of events, Kimberly wanted something that would organize all of the information. A single pocket-fold didn’t offer enough room so we had a custom double pocket fold created and it was the perfect organization they needed. The pocket closed and slid right into their laser cut sleeve. What a beautiful first look for their wedding guests!
Tips for the perfect laser cut wedding invitation
When choosing your laser cut invitation - make sure the style and look you choose go well with the overall look and feel of your wedding. Keep the colors consistent and make sure the style of the invitation and the design of the laser cut work well together and don’t overwhelm.
Keep budget in mind! Laser cut elements are more expensive that traditional backers, pockets or other elements of an invitation. If you are looking for a laser cut invitation, be sure to make room in your budget for the added cost. Custom laser cuts can range from $6 - $15 depending on what you choose and how intricate the design. Stock laser cuts (produced by a supply company at larger quantities) are typically less expensive.
There are so many different ways to include laser cut in your invitation from gate-folds, pocket-folds, backers, etc… Be sure to check them all out and see what options there are! For example, this rose gate-fold (above on mobile or to the left on desktop), is a stock laser cut design and is offered in the gate-fold or pocket-fold option (see above). Different designs may be available in different formats!
