Real Weddings – Sarah & Trey
A previous BND bride, Jennifer (shout out to Jen & Ben!) referred Sarah & Trey to me when I was working with them on their invitations and I couldn’t be more thankful! It was such a joy to work with Sarah & Trey on their custom wedding stationery for their wedding at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, North Carolina. They originally planned on getting married in June 2020, but had to postpone to October due to the pandemic. I love how they remained positive through it all, focusing on what mattered – each other and their immediate loved ones to celebrate with.
Brittney: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Sarah: My favorite part of our wedding day was our first look pictures, when Trey and I got to see each other for the first time before the ceremony.
B: Why were invitations and stationery important to you?
S: Our stationery was important to us because we wanted something personal and handmade to tie the colors into everything. It made our decorations cohesive and they’re are such a beautiful keepsake to have!
Invitations are such a
beautiful keepsake to have!
B: What kind of comments did you receive from guests?
S: We had a lot of friends and family ask where we got them and comment how beautiful it all was. It was all so well made and beautifully designed!
Sarah & Trey’s custom invitation featured beautiful watercolor ivory and lavender roses, mixed greenery and lavender sprigs to mimic the flowers chosen for Sarah’s bouquet. The entire suite was wrapped in lovely vellum and sealed with delicate dark green twine and a lavender wax seal. The wax seal featured their initials surrounded by a rose and lavender sprigs.
B: Do you have any advice for couples looking for invitations/stationery?
S: Take the time to think about what you want, it’s a keepsake that you’ll be able to pass on. I’d also recommend doing a custom design to make it really your own.
it’s a cliché, but really Take time to enjoy the little moments
B: What advice do you have for couples who are wedding planning?
R: It’s a cliché, but really take the time to enjoy the little moments, the day goes by so fast and at the end of it you’ll wish you could back and relive it, and take the time to put in little details and things that are personal to you, people will notice and it will make the little moments more memorable to have all those personal little details and decorations. Also, don’t let anyone tell you what to do on your own wedding day, it’s your day and no one else’s opinion matters.
